Townsville in 1985 was at the threshold of its massive expansion in all
aspects of industry, mining and primary production. The building
industry, at that time, was gearing itself up to be a part of this
expansion. From the back of a sheetmetal workshop in the Townsville
suburb of Aitkenvale, Anton Pilz’s Arch Template Hire And Sales was
created. Anton’s mission statement was to provide a quality and reliable
service to the builders and bricklayers with the hire, supply and sales
of window headers and arches along with the sale of quality building
tools and the supply of only the best in associated materials.
A dedicated service of this caliber was readily accepted and Arch
Template Hire And Sales quickly expanded, necessitating a move to larger
premises in Garbutt. During 1990, Anton, realizing a need yet again
formed True Blue Concrete Products. This new division specialized in the
sale of mini slabs, step treads, car stops and stamped pavers and
quickly became a recognized addition to the range of products and
services. Not one to stop there, Anton again diversified his business
and included the manufacture and sales of metal door frames.
With this level of expansion, the need to be housed in a complete one
-stop building supply centre was very much needed and Arch Template
Hire and Sales made the move to its present location. The growth also
saw the appointment of Mr. Glen Brockhurst as manager of this highly
organized and dedicated operation, who now leads a team of seven staff
who share in his commitment to the provision of quality products to
these industries
